Ultra Magnetic Indicators have, in many instances, replaced standard warning lamps for visual indication of the position of remotely controlled valves, flaps, actuators, etc. Widely used for aeronautical and industrial applications they are manufactured to stringent specifications, which ensure an extremely high level of reliability and a life expectancy of 1,000,000 operations.

Designed for maximum versatility of display, the Ultra three-position Magnetic Indicator is a fully type-approved unit incorporating two electro-magnets actuating four prisms through a rack and pinion mechanism. The prism faces form a flat 19mm square surface on which the three patterns are displayed. One is visible when the coils are not energised and the alternative patterns appear when their associated coils are energised.

Numerals, symbols, colours and letters are included in the wide range of display patterns and where space is at a premium, units may be mounted side by side with no clearance between bezels. An alternative window is available for indicators used on panels incorporating transpanel lighting. The three screw type terminals are protected by a rubber grommet with individual cable holes. The standard cable entry grommet is of a suitable length to accommodate ‘crimped’ terminal tags. Where transient voltages in a systems have to meet B.S.2G.100.
