Description

The Tornado Undercarriage Selector Switch is a lightweight and compact unit that has been designed specifically for this application. It is a two-position Up/Down switch and provides 6 electrically isolated single pole break-before-make changeover contacts. The unit is fully NVG compatible and can be locked in both positions.

The unit is locked in the down position by a solenoid and can be overridden by the pilot using a push button switch. Locking in the up position is carried out mechanically using a simple slider / detent mechanism. The equipment is also designed to incorporate a spring loaded over-centre device to prevent the switch from stalling or being inadvertently selected into the disengaged position.

The electrical interface is provided by a single PAN 6432-1E-16-26P connector.
