DescriptionThe 6703 series of 28V d.c Dimmers has been designed with a non –linear resistance law to provide an approximate linear voltage increase across typical 40mA tungsten filament bulbs. The resistive element is a conductive carbon based material screen printed and fired onto a ceramic substrate. The resolution of the Dimmer shaft in any operating position under vibration. A detent with a positive feel is provided to give an easily recognised ‘OFF’ position. Care has been taken to achieve a good thermal barrier at the knob end of the unit, such that heat is dissipated mainly toward the rear of the unit. At maximum dissipation conditions, the knob’s temperature rise is less than 25°C above ambient. Lampload can be controlled in the range of 2 to 50W by selection of the correct resistance value. In the higher rated unit, two active sections are used. The unit is sealed and does not emit toxic vapour under overload or short circuit conditions. A version is available to control 115V 400Hz a.c electroluminescent panels. |
