Description

The high performance lightweight Advanced Conduit System offered by Ultra Electronics Electrics Division provides the very latest in technology for the protection of wiring harnesses against EMI and environmental contaminants. Originally developed by Raychem Thermofit Division, the system was acquired by Ultra Electronics to complement and expand its capability in wiring harnesses for harsh environments. The system uses the unique Tinel Lock™ heat shrink metal ring, which replaces the traditional swaged sleeves used by some other systems. The Tinel Lock™ system offers considerable savings in weight and an increase in reliability and screening effectiveness.

A key feature of the system is that, unlike swaged designs, it is re-enterable without causing damage or disruption to the harness.

Using the standard HCTE tubing, a weight advantage of 30% is gained over conventional PTFE tube. By use of the alternative thin walled HCTE, savings in weight of 40% are possible.
