High Performance Connector Backshell with a Positive Locking Device for Electrical Harness Systems.

Ultra Electronics "ULTRALOCK®" device (patented) eliminates the requirement for anti-vibration wire locking of backshell spin couplings. The wave spring, which energises the locking collar into the engaged position, is manufactured from Stainless Steel to give exceptional corrosion resistance.

The lightweight version has a locking collar which is manufactured from PEEK, a high performance engineering plastic, which remains stable at temperatures of +200°C and is resistant to all common aerospace and ground vehicle fluids.

The high-temperature variant can withstand temperatures of +300ºC, and is suitable for use in harsh environments. The collar is manufactured from a lightweight Anodised Aluminium Alloy and is also resistant to all common aerospace and ground vehicle fluids.

Features

• Easy One Step Installation: Backshells can be tightened in the locking condition no separate action required to lock and no alignment of parts is required.
• Resistant to Accidental Unlocking: Our device is spring loaded into the “locked” condition and a deliberate dual action (pull and rotate) is required to disengage the locking system.
• Low Profile: Incorporated locking feature within the overall space envelope of a standard backshell. This allows the backshell to be used in confined spaces, close to bulkheads etc, and will also allow existing standard backshells to be upgraded to positive locking with no installation changes.
• Completely Eliminates the Need for Wire-locking of Backshells
• Lightweight: There are negligible weight penalties incurred compared to standard backshells with wire locking.
