Description
The Fixed Control Handle consists of a generic aluminium casting mounted to an electronic control unit. The standard functionality is detailed below although a number of different switch configurations are available.
A 2-axis force transducer is fitted which provides X & Y position information to enable weapon aiming, turret or cursor control. A double pole trigger switch is provided to perform safety critical fire control functions. Protection against inadvertent operation is achieved through the addition of a spring-loaded trigger guard. Two push-button switches are included, mounted either side of the force-transducer. A dead man’s palm grip is fitted to the front of the handle.
The mounting base of the handle houses the CAN and serial interface PCB and optional power supply PCB. Signals exit the base via a chassis mounted connector.
The handle and base is made from aluminium alloy and painted Pearl White (RAL 1013).
