Description
The Duplex Displacement Control Handle has been designed to fulfil the roles of both gunner and driver steer-by-wire interface within armoured fighting vehicles.
The Control Handle has a double pistol grip and is mounted on a central boss. The grips can rotate in two planes to provide turret control (traverse & elevation) or vehicle steering control (azimuth).
The handle has been designed to ease reconfiguration and upgrade in that it incorporates exchangeable switch panels and has capacity for extra azimuth position sensing and mounting of force feedback devices.
Handle position is sensed with non-contact Hall Effect technology, this together with switch positions is available via CAN and discrete signal interfaces.
