Description
The General Purpose Input CAN Node provides an ‘off the shelf’ solution for interfacing vehicle sensors and signals to a CANbus.
The unit has 40 inputs in total, divided between switch to 0V, high Z and analogue. All the inputs are designed to withstand the spikes and surges associated with being connected to the raw 28V supply.
The unit is also provided with a limited capability to drive loads.
Features
- 16 Switch inputs configured as switch to 0V, with wetting current
- 8 High impedance inputs where the input is compared against a fixed voltage threshold to determine its value, 1 or 0.
- 16 single ended analogue inputs with 10-bit resolution with a full-scale value of 32V
- 8 high-side switches for resistive loads, 4 with a maximum current of 1A and 4 with a maximum current of 100mA
- Outputs are protected against Over Temperature and Short Circuit
- Galvanically isolated CAN 2.0B interface. Supports MilCAN, CANopen, J1939 and other Higher Layer Protocols.
- RS232 interface supporting full duplex communication. This interface is also used to up-load new program or configuration data to the node
- Bus enabled ETI and serial number record is provided within the node
- Built In Test
- Additional interfaces can be accomodated upon request
