Description

The Low Cost Vehicle Usage Monitoring System provides an ‘off the shelf’ cost effective solution for automating the collection of usage data. The unit has 12 inputs for connection to vehicle sensors plus a ‘wake up’ line to initiate recording. All inputs are designed to withstand the spikes and surges associated with being connected to the raw 28V supply.

Data download is achieved via a USB port allowing a fast transfer to a laptop or solid state memory stick. An optional CAN interface allows several units to be strung together to create a larger usage monitoring system.

• 8 discrete inputs where the input is compared against a fixed voltage threshold to determine its value, 1 or 0
• 2 analogue inputs with a measuring range of 0 – 40V with 10-bit resolution
• 2 Pulse inputs with frequency limit of 1kHz
• System ‘wake up’ line, a voltage sensitive input used to bring the system out of low power sleep mode

• USB data download port for fast extraction of data
• RS232 port for covers on programming and configuration data upload
• Optional galvanically isolated CAN 2.0B interface. Supports MilCAN, CANopen, J1939 and other Higher Layer Protocols
